Dry Landscape Garden [Sanbaishi] Small Size
A small type of dry landscape garden that can be displayed in a small space.
This is a set of bluish Sanba stones.
[What is Sanbaishi?]
This blue-green crystalline schist is mined around Fujioka City, Gunma Prefecture. Some of the rocks have beautiful white stripes and are used as garden stones. There are several theories about the origin of the name, including one that it comes from three rocks in the nearby Sanbagawa River, and another that it was named after the river itself. Its charm lies in the deep flavor it acquires with age.
